e-Law, LLC, a Legal Internet Company, Helps New York Lawyers Get Back to Business After Terrorist Attacks
NEWARK, NJ (Friday, September 21, 2001) ¾
e-Law, LLC (www.e-law.com), a legal Internet company that serves New York lawyers by monitoring New York trial courts case dockets has volunteered to help lawyers directly impacted by the WTC tragedy."We are keenly aware of the difficulties faced by thousands of lawyers struggling to get their practices back on track. For those lawyers who are having difficulty recreating their case calendars, e-Law wants to help," said Jerry Krivitzky, Chairman & CEO.
e-Law is assisting lawyers in the WTC area by searching the New York Supreme civil court system, gathering their cases into an e-Law.com case calendar (accessible by the lawyer), and sending email notifications on future appearances and decisions.
"Although we just started getting the word out, the response has been overwhelming. We’ve received hundreds of emails expressing gratitude and we’re working around the clock helping those lawyers who’ve accepted our offer. This involves entering thousands of cases into the e-Law database," said Ed Denne, e-Law’s Chief Operating Officer.
A medical malpractice and personal injury firm looked to e-Law to recreate the case calendars for their attorneys. Mitchell Caspert, the law firm administrator for Queller, Fisher, Dienst, Serrins, Washor & Kool, LLP, said "We’ve been without an office since the morning of September 11th. Under these most exigent circumstances, the advanced technology of e-Law has allowed us to carry on business as usual. Thanks to e-Law, we haven’t missed one court appearance."
Other law firms are using e-Law to check their records. Goldfarb & Gerzog’s Ira Goldfarg said, "Having e-Law's support during these times is a great security blanket. It is allowing our office to double check our active caseload and court appearances."
e-Law assistance is free to lawyers impacted by the September 11th tragedy. Lawyers wanting more information may call 973-642-1440, ext. 8, or fax e-Law at 973-242-1905, attention: WTC Relief. Fax requests should include a contact name, firm name, email, phone, and fax.
